Our Story
Built on Family. Grounded in Tradition. Trusted Since 1976.

For 50 years, Hopson Builders has been more than a construction company. We have been a family dedicated to building lasting relationships, delivering quality craftsmanship, and helping the communities we serve grow stronger. What began as a small family operation serving the agricultural needs of Central Texas has evolved into a trusted name in commercial construction, built on three generations of hard work, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing things right.
Humble Beginnings. A Lasting Foundation.
Our story began in 1976 when our grandfather, William Paul Hopson, founded Paul Hopson Builders with a simple mission: to provide dependable construction solutions for the farmers and ranchers who formed the backbone of our community.
In those early years, the company focused primarily on constructing barns, grain silos, and agricultural structures designed to withstand the demands of everyday use. Paul understood that the buildings he constructed represented more than materials and labor. They were investments in livelihoods, family businesses, and the future of the people who depended on them.
As Central Texas grew, so did the opportunities to serve its changing needs. By the early 1980s, the company had expanded into commercial metal building construction, completing its first commercial project and establishing the foundation for the business we know today.
The Second Generation. Building a Reputation.
In 1979, Paul’s son-in-law, Jack Nixon Eben, joined the family business, bringing with him a strong work ethic, a passion for construction, and a business education from Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University. A 1969 graduate of San Marcos High School, Jack earned his business degree in 1975 and remained deeply connected to the community where he grew up.
In 1984, Jack assumed leadership of the company, beginning a remarkable 40-year chapter that would define much of the Hopson Builders legacy.
Under his direction, the company continued to grow, strengthening its expertise in metal building construction while establishing the reputation for reliability, honesty, and quality that remains central to our identity. In 1992, the business was formally incorporated and became Hopson Builders, Inc., marking another important milestone in its evolution.
For four decades, Jack guided the company through changing economic conditions, evolving construction practices, and the continued growth of Central Texas. Through it all, one principle remained constant: a company’s reputation is earned through the quality of its work and the way it treats people.
When Jack retired in 2024, he left behind more than a successful business. He left a legacy of trust, perseverance, and a standard of excellence for the next generation to carry forward.
The Third Generation. Honoring the Past. Building the Future.
The next chapter of Hopson Builders began long before the transition in leadership.
Jack’s son, David Eben, joined the company in 1998, gaining firsthand experience in the construction industry and learning the business from the ground up. His daughter, Keri Eben Wilson, followed in 2006, contributing to the continued development and operation of the family business.
Together, David and Keri spent years working alongside their father, developing an understanding of the company’s operations, its customers, and the values that had sustained it for decades.
In 2024, they assumed responsibility for the company’s daily operations, carrying forward the family tradition with a renewed focus on the future. In 2026, David and Keri officially took ownership of Hopson Builders, marking the beginning of the third generation of family leadership.
Their vision is rooted in the same principles established by their grandfather 50 years earlier: deliver quality work, stand behind every commitment, and treat every customer with honesty and respect.
While construction methods, technology, and the needs of our customers continue to evolve, the foundation of Hopson Builders remains unchanged.
Fifty Years of Building More Than Buildings.
From agricultural barns and grain silos to commercial and residential metal buildings, Hopson Builders has grown alongside the communities of Central Texas. Every project represents an opportunity to continue a legacy that began with one man’s determination to serve his neighbors.

We understand that every building has a purpose. It may support a growing business, protect valuable equipment, create opportunities for employees, or represent the realization of a lifelong dream. Whatever that purpose may be, we approach each project with the same dedication to quality, dependability, and personal service that has defined our company since 1976.
Today, as a third-generation family-owned and operated business, we are proud of where we came from, grateful for the customers who have trusted us over the decades, and excited about the opportunities ahead.
Three generations. Fifty years. One family commitment.
At Hopson Builders, we are not simply carrying on a family name. We are continuing a promise made in 1976: to build with integrity, deliver with pride, and create something that lasts.
